The Panton classic chair, designed by Verner Panton, was cutting edge in the 1960s.
This is a reproduction Panton. It's been in our chair collection for years. I was inspired to bring it to the shop today, because we just received a new batch of Keith Simpson pottery: a series of contemporary stoneware vases. The vases are cast from handmade molds, and are painted with geometric shapes and intense cobalt colors. As soon as they arrived in the shop I was reminded me of the lone Panton we had back at the warehouse!! So I brought the chair to the shop because I wanted to see how they looked together. Verner Panton, as a designer, was more interested in interiors and architecture than individual pieces. His brilliance and ingenuity came from a desire to fit together individual pieces to form a whole integrated environment. ((((I feel ya, Panton))) I think he would appreciate that I brought this chair over to hang with these vases. End of story.
Dimensions: 19" width x 21" depth x 32" height. Seat is 17.5" high.
